My warm & nourishing morning smoothie ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸคŽ

Iโ€™ve never really been a fan of cold breakfasts. Iโ€™ve never gotten into overnight oats or ice-cold smoothies because they just donโ€™t feel good for my digestion.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, Agni (digestive fire) is something we want to support, and traditionally, freshly prepared and warm/comfortable-temperature foods are often preferred over very cold foods.

This is how I make mine ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

    ๐ŸŒพ 60 g oats
๐Ÿฅœ 5 cashews or almonds (i like to chew them so i have it separately)
    ๐ŸŽƒ 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
    ๐ŸŒป 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
๐ŸŒฑ 1 tbsp chia / sabja seeds, soaked
    ๐ŸŒด 2 black dates
๐Ÿฅ› 1 glass milk -any type
๐Ÿฅœ 1 tbsp dark chocolate peanut butter
โœจ A little cinnamon + cardamom

I blend everything fresh -no ice, no chilled ingredients and no overnight soaking of the oats.

If you have a sensitive or slower digestion and raw oats feel heavy for you, you can cook the oats first, let them come to a comfortable temperature and then blend them.

I also donโ€™t add fruits into the smoothie. Not because fruit is bad, but because I personally prefer having my seasonal fruit separately rather than mixing it into this milk-based smoothie. If I want fruit with it, I usually prefer a little ripe, sweet mango.

This combination gives me a good mix of carbohydrates, fibre, protein, healthy fats and minerals, making it a filling breakfast that keeps me going through the morning.

For me, breakfast isnโ€™t about following every health trend. I like keeping it fresh, nourishing, comforting and easy on my digestion. ๐ŸคŽ

Ayurvedic food practices are traditional principles and can vary according to individual constitution, digestion and needs. #morningbreakfast #morningsmoothie #warmmeal

I make it without oats and milk. By blending soaked almonds, cashews, black raisins, chia seeds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, dry fig, dates and little cinnanmon along with a ripe banana or an apple. It tastes so good and also very filling.
