I'm a doctor. I am suffering from sinus for last 8 years. But I have sinus problem since my childhood. I have ear infection CSOM because of sinus. I ended up in chronic inflammation. Now my entire body is affected. All the system is affected. My body temperature 96.4 F . I went to Ent surgeon, not one but so many .They gave antibiotics, antihistamines
Steam inhalation. But not much help. Had CT scan sinuses. The same treatment, they continued.
So I contacted yoga through you tube. They suggested warm water in the morning. That helps liquify thick sinus secretions and helps in drainage. It also helps push the motion down and treats constipation. It raises the body temperature to normal level so that the enzymes work efficiently to return to normal physiology.
You have nicely explained but how much water is required depends on the severity of the conditions for which you are taking the water. You should never take hot water, it should only warm water.

This doctor is so discouraging. Drinking warm water is a very good habit, first thing in the morning. I'm from the UK and there western medicines and medical advise is nearly always harmful in the long term. I've found that natural, Indian methods to be more beneficial
rubbish… nobody drinks hot water… warm or lukewarm water is what is advised in winters. no one drinks it in Indian summers.
