Thank you for these videos. I have one question as someone who was diagnosed with diabetes as skinny person. 4 years ago i suddenly lost 6kg of my weight and I got diagnosed with Diabetes. Since than I'm struggling to increase calories as I'm unable to get enough carbs with limitations how much my body can handle. At one point i dropped to 58 kg with 180 cm height. Now I'm stucked between 60-61 kg and I'm unable to gain more weight. I'm trying to compensate carbs with protein (2g per kg) and fats to keep at least the weight i have now. Also I work out 5 days a week: push-pull-legs so i burn most of the calories i eat. Are there any things i can eat that wont raise my glucose, but will help me get with calories intake?
I hear a lot about the efficiency of deadlifts… but my lower back is shot; got two hernias (L4-L5 and L5-S1)…. so deadlifts are too risky for me… can I still do something? Can I replace this for something safer?

Hi! Great video! I am a little curious and skeptical. I was under the impression that muscle can only grow at a microscopic rate per week (in response to micro damage) So how can you guys recommend adding 1-2 pounds a week? Isn’t it going to be mostly fat? Lastly, if your skinny fat (130 pounds at 17% bodyfat upwards) aren’t you going to get flabbier when you add weight so fast?

Saying that people who drink coffee are healthier is probably true in general. However, it could be misleading. There are so many additional factors both physically and behaviourally and caffeine is so ubiquitous, that it is difficult to truly study how much healthier a healthy person could be if they cut it out of their life. It's like saying people who eat red meat are less healthy, but those are the very people who didnt follow the advice of their doctors in general, so likely smoked more etc. There are numerous negative affects of caffeine but it's so difficult to truly study human potential without it because almost everyone has it in their diet, from coffee and tea to chocolate and fizzy drinks. Great video though otherwise ☺️
Many skinny guys—myself included—have an adaptive metabolism, which means that I actually burn more calories when I try to eat more. I particularly notice that my body temperature heats up—I call it thermal gain—as if to burn off those extra calories. For me, an extra 500 calories per day doesn't produce any weight gain. I need as much as an extra 1k calories before the scales start to move. That's why I rely on mass gainer shakes that pack a lot of calories into a compact serving size. Plus, liquid calories are my friend—perfect for someone with a small stomach capacity. I know that shakes based on maltodextrin come with a risk for glucose resistance, but they are the only thing that works for me in bulking.

What if you’re too under muscled to cut but to fat to eat in a surplus. I tired to cut and just got smaller not leaner but I’m not scared to bulk as I have a tiny belly. I’ve been lifting for two years and got some decent gains but I’m tall 6’3 and my frames still not filled out at 200 lbs

Or would I swap the isolation exercises to incorporate the farmer carries and planks with the bench, row and deadlift workout the following week? Maybe I’m over complicating it. 🤦♂️
