That's not actually true… walking has so much more beneficial value than 10 minutes of high cardio which raises your cortisol. the whole point of walking is to put your body in safe mode, allowing your body to release visceral fat. There is no replacement for a 1-hour walk. this does more benefit to the body brain + your overall health then what she is suggesting. walking is literally the top exercise that any human being can do. think back to picking berries and grazing through the jungle. We weren't running for our lives every single day. it's kind of logic and Common sense. I am a doctor and She's the reason why people get second opinions from doctors! they are not always right, doctors are human So be sure to question everything. we all have the ability to do research just like her. my research tells me that she's wrong. We need our bodies to tap into our sympathetic nervous system so that our body is not always in fight or flight which leads to our body dramatically holding on to dangerous visceral fat that is strangling our major organs.

POV: My grandmother is 100. She never jogged or did squats, but she did a lot of walking and labored as a farm girl in her youth. As an adult, she worked mostly standing or sitting jobs, but she still moved – working in her garden growing veg and flowers, and doing housework. She walked places if they weren't too far, rode a bike for a few years when they lived in the city. She still moves every day. She's still taking her laundry down to the basement, sweeping the driveway, watering her potted flowers, making her own meals, and making her bed every morning. And most days, she gets on her treadmill to walk 200 meters. She has all her faculties and most of her own teeth. She also fries her meat in seed oils on Teflon pans and gets plenty of microplastics from drinking bottled water every day. She's not a stressed person. She's a kind person. She takes everything in stride. You want to know how to live a long and healthy life? Look at the people who have done it. Not the ones trying to sell a book. Just my opinion.

  28. @Jakilyn says

Interestingly 1:08:17 avocado is equally as high in polyphenol oxidase you dumba$$😂😂😂

  29. @mikekrieger3424 says

I think there’s a clip from this segment where her guest is telling people to not add banana to their smoothies. That kind of advice is a red flag for sure. A little less respect for you Mel.

For anyone who feels overwhelmed by life and doesn’t really know where that feeling is coming from, Clara Hartley’s anxiety quiz might be worth trying. It could help you notice patterns that are easy to miss on your own.

  31. @andreaconner5764 says

Come on people that banana is not going to negate the nutrients of the blueberries..lol

  32. @RonAlfonse-t7y says

The banana and blueberry thing is 100 % false. THE BANANA DOES NOT KILL THE BENEFITS OF THE BERRIES. There was not study"s" . There was ONE study of six men that measured ONE polyphenol. There are many polyphenols and flavonoids in both bananas and blueberries. All fruits are good for you in some way . Stop the bullish!t click bait social media grift Rhonda. You have a f ing PHD in Bio Medical science for gods sake. Act like it. Zero respect when you spew this garbage

  33. @TseringChoedon-j7r says

I am excited about adding Prebiotic fibre in my smoothie! I love to add banana in my blueberry kale smoothie, now I know why to avoid banana. Thank you 🙏

  34. @scottbowman4077 says

She’s making up crap about bananas and polyphenols. Just talking nonsense.

  35. @oystergirl99 says

While I love the idea of exercise snacks, it's surprising that Dr. Patrick recommends such a HIGH amount of kale, which is a goitrogenic food and effects the thyroid uptake of iodine. The recommended use of kale is ONE SERVING a WEEK and it should be cooked.
